Gas Prices

If you are like everyone else here in the U.S. you are concerned with the high gas prices we are paying, and probably feel you can't do anything about them. Well I'm here to tell you, you are wrong.

Have you noticed the traffic on our city streets and highways? Does it seem like anyone has stopped or slowed down on their driving habits? Have YOU? Well there lies the problem, everyone is talking about the high gas prices but no one is doing, or trying to do, anything about them.

Everyone is to busy blaming the oil companies, government, the corner station and anyone else they can think of. Well if they are not to blame who is? You and I are to blame. No, that can't be you say, "I", don't raise the price, "I", don't make a profit, "I", can't do anything about it, "I", can't control it. And the list of "I", "ME" goes on and on.

Well you and I are the only ones who can control it. Just like we see all the vehicles on the road, so does the CEO of Exxon Mobil, and the CEO's of all the other oil companies, Hugo Chavez, the tyrant from Venezuela who controls Citgo sees it, the commodities brokers see it and every time that fool in Iran speaks out they raise the price of crude.

Don't depend on the government to get a handle on it, they can't even get a handle on their own parties without bickering and playing the blame game. They are just a bunch of Morons acting like little kids in a sand box, so don't think they are able,or willing to do anything.

So take the steering wheel and gas pump in your own hands and start making a difference, you can do it. And you will see those gas prices start to drop back down. Now for a few tips.

Start with getting a new mind set, "I can do this." "It's up to me to make a difference". Turn the "ME" attitude into something positive, it's not about "ME it's about us all.

Take your car to a good shop/mechanic and have it tuned up, change the oil and filter, gas filter, air filter, proper air in the tires and every 2-3 fill ups add some good fuel injection cleaner (I prefer Lucas as it cleans better and lasts longer), also use a good synthetic oil as there is less friction and the engine will run quieter and more efficient.

Now for the hard part. Change your driving habits. Try going on less unneeded trips, combine trips, if your in a long line at the bank or drive through shut off your engine. Don't use your A/C as much, the fresh air will do you good. Slow down, try driving 55-60, after you get used to it it's not so bad. Taking a little more time is well worth it when you fill up again at the high gas prices we are paying now.

If we all can do this, and I believe we can, we will start to see the gas prices drop back because we all together with our little sacrifices will be able to save millions of gallons of gas with our efforts. You will feel better for doing it and the country will be better off from our efforts, and the gas prices will go as low as we want to have them.

Sacrifice is no a dirty word, our parents and grand parents done it and so can we.
